A DAY IN THE LIFE OF WALLY THE WILDCAT!

WALLY ARRIVES TO CLASS LATE. WALLY NEEDS TO STOP IN THE OFFICE TO GET A PASS. SINCE WALLY IS ONLY 4 MINUTES LATE HE IS TARDY AND NOT TRUANT. Belleville MS-HS attendance guidelines can be found on page 9.

WALLY IS THIRSTY. WALLY NEEDS TO WAIT UNTIL AN APPROPRIATE TIME TO ASK HIS TEACHER TO LEAVE THE CLASSROOM AND GO TO THE BUBBLER (do you know your individual teacher’s policies?) WALLY DOES NEED A PASS TO GO TO THE BUBBLER, EVEN IF IT IS JUST OUTSIDE THE CLASSROOM DOOR.

WALLY DRANK TOO MUCH WATER! WALLY KNOWS WHEN HIS TEACHER ALLOWS BATHROOM BREAKS AND WHEN HE LEAVES HE TAKES THE APPROPRIATE HALL PASS. WALLY IS RESPONSIBLE AND USES THE RESTROOM CLOSEST TO HIS CLASSROOM.

ONE OF WALLY’S TEACHERS ASKS HIM TO MAKE COPIES, SO HE TAKES THE LIBRARY PASS AND USES THE COPY MACHINE AND PROMPTLY RETURNS TO CLASS. WALLY NEEDS TO WORK IN THE LIBRARY AND HE KNOWS HE NEEDS A PASS FROM HIS TEACHER. IT IS HIS RESPONSIBILITY TO MAKE SURE HIS PASS HAS THE TIME ON IT, HIS NAME, WHAT HE WILL BE WORKING ON, AND HIS TEACHER’S SIGNATURE. WALLY NEEDS TO TURN HIS PASS IN AT THE LIBRARY DESK, SIGN IN AND OUT OF THE LIBRARY DURING RTI, AND RETRIEVE HIS SIGNED PASS WHEN HE LEAVES THE LIBRARY. IF YOU ARE PART OF A GROUP ALL MEMBERS NEED THEIR OWN PASS UNLESS YOU ARE ALL ARRIVING AND LEAVING AT THE SAME TIME. WALLY LOVES THE LIBRARY!

WALLY NEEDS TO VISIT THE STUDENT SERVICES AREA. Student services include the school nurse, guidance, and the office. WALLY NEEDS TO HAVE THE APPROPRIATE PASS WHEN HE VISITS THE STUDENT SERVICES AREA, EVEN WHEN THEY CALL HIM TO THE OFFICE. SOMETIMES IT IS IMPORTANT TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT TO MEET WITH GUIDANCE STAFF.

WALLY NEEDS HIS PENCIL CASE AND HIS TEXTBOOK. HE LEFT HIS PENCIL CASE IN HIS CAR. HE NEEDS TO TAKE THE LOCKER PASS, CHECK IN WITH THE THE OFFICE, GO GET HIS PENCIL CASE, AND BUZZ BACK IN. HE NEEDS TO GET HIS TEXTBOOK FROM HIS LOCKER. WALLY NEEDS TO TAKE HIS PASS AND GO ONLY TO HIS LOCKER. WALLY FORGOT HIS PENCIL CASE IN HIS GYM LOCKER. WAIT!!! GOING TO THE GYM LOCKER MEANS GOING THROUGH ANOTHER TEACHER’S CLASSROOM. WALLY NEEDS TO WAIT UNTIL THE NEXT PASSING PERIOD AND BORROW A PENCIL FROM A CLASSMATE.

WALLY NEEDS HELP (from another teacher)! WALLY NEEDS TO UNDERSTAND THAT THE CLASSROOM HE IS ASSIGNED TO IS HIS TOP PRIORITY. IF HIS TEACHER ALLOWS HIM TO LEAVE TO GO TO ANOTHER CLASSROOM HE NEEDS TO HAVE A PASS. (REMEMBER THE TEACHER YOU ARE VISITING MIGHT BE BUSY AND YOU NEED TO BE RESPECTFUL OF THEIR TIME AND THEIR CLASSROOM). IF HE IS JUST GOING TO PICK SOMETHING UP THE PINK CLASSROOM PASS IS AN APPROPRIATE PASS TO USE. IF HE WILL BE STAYING IN THAT CLASSROOM HE NEEDS A PASS ALLOWING HIM TO LEAVE AND IT NEEDS TO BE OKAY WITH THE TEACHER HE WILL BE VISITING.

During RTI Wally uses a pass. Wally W. During class Wally signs in/out of the class. EXAMPLES Don’t forget your blue office pass when you need to leave for an appointment.

Wally W. WW CONT...

WHY ARE THESE THE WILDCAT WAY? Wally W.

WHY ARE THESE NOT THE WILDCAT WAY?

WHAT IS THE SAME FOR EACH OF WALLY’S SITUATIONS? WHAT IS DIFFERENT FOR EACH OF WALLY’S SITUATIONS?

HOW IS WALLY PRACTICING BEING RESPECTFUL, BEING RESPONSIBLE, AND BEING A SAFE CITIZEN?

PLEASE REMEMBER Not all teachers use the same passes, but the contents of a pass should be similar. Not all teachers have the same expectations surrounding leaving their class and it is your responsibility to know your teacher’s expectations. Not all teachers will fill the passes out for you. It may be your responsibility to fill the pass out and then have your teacher sign your pass.

IT IS A GREAT DAY TO BE A WILDCAT!
