Aflatoun Partnerships In March 2008, Aflatoun launched its Campaign to reach 1 million in 75 countries by 2010! Currently reaching 249,600 children in 20 countries globally…and growing. An Aflatoun Country Network The Aflatoun-Philippines Network “Aflatoun partner organizations in The Philippines have begun to come together and systematize efforts to bring Aflatoun's programme of social and financial empowerment to more children in the country.” Members are: The National Confederation of Cooperatives (NATCCO), Plan, Child Hope Asia, CCF, and Philippine Postal Savings Bank (PPSB). “Several meetings to iron out organizational details and identify areas of collaboration and sharing took place. May 28 the Aflatoun partners supported its newest partner, PPSB, by attending the launch of its Financial Literacy project. September 2008 PPSD Bank launched a Child Friendly Banking partnership with the network to provide savings accounts for Aflatoun children. NATCCO is currently serving as head of Aflatoun-Philippines.” – Aflatoun Talk!, June 2008

Over two-third of Aflatoun’s programmes are endorsed by national and local education authorities For sustainability and integration of 5 Core Elements, Aflatoun Programmes match learning with day to day school curricula (easier for teachers too) Aflatoun’s CSFE programme also helps children overcome barriers to development (e.g. school fees.) A 12 year old girl from Kazo Summit School in Wakiso, Uganda notes: “I save my money so that it can help me in paying my school fees. My father doesn’t have enough money to pay my school fees, that is the only challenge I face.” Aflatoun & Education Authorities
