About The Establishment of SARA As per ICPS Guideline, a GR was passed on 30th, October 2010 to establish SARA in the state. As per ICPS Guideline Staff pattern of SARA was approved in said GR. Recruitment was done for the SARA in July 2011 .

Action Taken By SARA The GR was passed to form Adoption Recommendation Committee in August, 2011. The GR was passed to Form Sponsorship and Foster care Approval Committee in August, 2011. The State Level Orientation Workshop on Adoption and alternative care held in October,2011.

Continue… The Training On Carings was organized for the Adoption Institutions at State Level in October, 2011 The Functions of Adoption Coordination Agency was taken over by SARA from 31st March 2012. The Pilot base Sponsorship (Rehabilitative) scheme implemented in October,2011 in the two district of the state and 25 Children were benefited of the scheme.

Continue… In May, 2012 The Sponsorship(Rehabilitative) Scheme was implemented in the state and 70 Children were benefited. 1st Meeting of ARC was held on 26th May,2012. 2nd Meeting of ARC was held on 11th October, 2012. 3rd Meeting of ARC was held on 21st December, 2012. From August 2012, The Program Officer -SARA was called as resource person by Gujarat State Judicial Academy for the subject of “ A brief outline of statutes governing the Guardianship and Adoption including the adoption of orphan children.
