1- Siam M. Handicraft 3 Established: 5 January 2000 (family enterprise, economic crisis) Production Unit: 1. Incubator in Industrial Promotion Center Region 5 (IPCR 5) 10 labors. 2. Subcontractor 200 labors (7 communities in 4 districts, Khon Kaen) Capacity: 24,000 pieces/month (1 container 20 ft). Target market: domestic (10-20%); oversea (80%)(Singapore, Dubai, Lebanon, Brunei, Italy, GMS)

4 Objectives 1. Get the job and income for rural people 2. Promote Thai handicraft products Strength 1. Proud to be Thai specific product 2. Raw material (saa paper) is very stable 3. Labor force is available from rural area 4. Innovation (owner, designer, manager, financer, marketing…) 5. High-quality and value added products 6. Treat the team as family, fair income

2- Pare Pan Group Pare Pan come from the gathering of 200 rural women from 7 villages of Khon Kaen with the support of the Art and Crafts Centre for Woman Development with the objective of: To maintain and promote the art of weaving fabric by rural women To improve the careers and income of rural women To support and increase participation in rural development.

Weakness Lack of government support Ability to find new markets Lack of strong marketing strategy (Promotion, new design, etc.) Bias of management due to group decision
