Presentation transcript:

The WHO, WHAT, WHEN, WHERE and WHY of Christianity PURPOSE: If someone doesn’t learn anything else about Christianity, once they become a Christian, if they understand these six concepts, they have adequate knowledge to live the Christian life.

HOW IT WORKS The format of these studies is as follows: Participants are asked to complete a pre-study questionnaire in order to gain what their thoughts/beliefs are currently on the subject matter to be discussed. Each participant brings their completed question to the group discussion. The student begins and ends with prayer. Once the study begins, each participant, if they choose, shares their answer to question. Then the facilitator introduces a Scripture that addresses God’s answer to the question. Then each participant answers to the following two questions: 1.What does this verse or verses mean? 2.How should we apply these words to our lives? The study continues until all of the questions are addressed with Scripture.

OVERVIEW This study is composed of the following materials: 1.Participant Questionnaire 2.Participant Workbook 3.Leader Guide 4.Powerpoint Presentations – WHO and HOW 5.Take Aways 1.Bookmarks 2.Word Puzzles 3.T-Shirt 4.Jar of Dirt

JAR OF DIRT We had jars of dirt as keepsakes of the retreat in consideration of the following verses: Genesis 2:7 - And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living Corinthians 15:49 - And as we have borne the image of the man of dust, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly Man. As a keepsake, we had the boys dif up dirt and place it in these jars. They then had a keepsake of the retreat to remind themselves of their dependency on God because with God, they are just dirt. TAKE AWAYS JAR LABEL: “I am just dust.” Thank GOD for the Holy Spirit! Covecrest-2007
