Biology 2 Packet II Lab Snow Bug Lab Procedure: 1)Read through the lab 2)Copy information on slide 2 in packet. 3)Copy results on slide 3 in packet 4)Answer Questions.

Copy this information on bottom of pg. 72 in your Packet: Dirt can vary in pH. Some is acidic (pH 1-6) and some are basic (pH 8-14). Snow bugs like in dirt and prefer dirt that is basic (pH 8-14). Snow bugs move quickly when in unfriendly (acidic) environments in hopes to get out. Snow bugs move slowly when in a friendly (basic) environment because they want to stay Vinegar is very acidic.

Results Solution pH: – (100%) Pure Vinegar = 2 – 75% Vinegar = 2.5 – 50% Vinegar = 3 – 75% Vinegar = 4 Observation Notes: – The larger percentage of vinegar, the faster the snow bugs moved!!!
