Water Pollution By: Sera & Nandini

Source of problem The problem of the polluted water is the humans fault because studies have revealed that water is threatened by human activity. Water pollution occurs when pollutants are directly or indirectly put into water without treatment to remove harmful materials. Many of our water resources also lack basic protections, making them harmful to pollution from the run off from factories and farms. This water collect pesticides , oil, and garbage.

Effects of Problem/Issue Human Health Economy Many countries around the world don’t have clean drinking water. The polluted water can make our drinking water unsafe and threaten the waters where we swim and fish. Dirty water is the biggest human health risk, and continues to threaten both quality of life and public health in the United States. The amount of water used for sewer pricing is the simple concept of billing a customer for the amount of water going out of the pipe. If you use more water than you need the larger the bill will be. The less water a customer uses, the less the bill will be.

Effects of problem/Issue Ecosystem Biosphere The polluted water can endanger wildlife. When water falls from rain and melting snow, it runs off roofs and roads into our rivers. It picks up toxic chemicals, dirt, trash and disease-carrying germs along the way. This leads to sicknesses and endangered animals. Every year 1,000 of marine animals and seabirds die from eating or getting tangled in plastic bags and our waste in the ocean. Sea turtles, lobsters, crabs, sea birds, seals, whales, dolphins, fish, swans, and starfish. So many of these animals die every year because of water pollution.

Solution to problem Future Solutions Student Solutions USA, India, United Nation, Latin Countries, European Countries are trying to stop water pollution. These countries do not have clean drinking water. Their water is polluted. The waters are filled with dirt and trash. Even though they don’t have clean drinking water they still try to help other countries. Some solutions to stopping polluted water is to stop throwing garbage in the water/ocean. If you recycle there will be less water pollution, because when you throw out things that can be recycled they sometimes go into the water. Also when you go to the beach don`t leave your things and trash.

Current Solutions Natural Resources Defenses Council works to protect and restore important waterways to there is enough water flowing to keep these ecosystems moving. They are saving turtles, whales, and other sea creatures in the ocean.

Saving Turtles in the Wild! People are trying to help turtles by saving them in the wild. If they see a turtle choking or something bad that is happening they will immediately save the turtle.

Saving Baby Seals! You may think that these are the cutest things ever! But they have to swim in polluted water also! So please stop polluting!
