Hardware e software designed and produced by Grafikontrol to avoid obsolesces. LCD and Touch-screen videos. Motorized cameras and detecting heads with self- centering optics. High speed custom cameras. Use of high brilliance white LED technology to guarantee the best reliable and durable (11 years) light source The Technology

Speed, accuracy and high reliability. Assurance of full automatic make ready Huge waste reduction. Touch screen and Windows based graphic allows friendly use and minimal operator training. Performances

Circumferential and Lateral Micro-mark Register Control

  LED source lights with min hours life time.   Cameras mounted on motorized bars, optics, electronic boards and light sources are designed by Grafikontrol   Electronic boards with DSP (Digital Signal Processing) image processor.   Micro marks are geometric shapes and not dots, not subject to print conditions. They can be placed anywhere.   Image Acquisition: the high speed camera reaches up to 200 images/sec, allowing a reading at every cylinder revolution.

4 mm 3 mm 100 mm 66 mm The equipment allows, at each new job, to carry out fully-automatic start-up without the operator’s intervention, enabling a considerable reduction in wastes and start-up times

CR 25 CAMERA WITH MOTORIZED BAR RETRACTING DEVICE FOR WEB UP

User-friendly with touch-screen video Real time visualisation of marks and... instantaneous error value for each color

Longitudinal and Side-lay Ribbons Register Control

LED source lights with min hours life time Register error correction up to ±100 mm for both longitudinal and side register Full automatic start up for both cut-off and side-lay register without operator’s intervention Side register is controlled with no printing (ribbon slitting edge) No mark loss, nor variations on longitudinal register when correction is made on the side register due to continuous mark auto-centering

One single detecting head for both longitudinal and side register control Cut-off register controlled through a small mark, placed in a 3,2 mm non printed gap

Individual Ribbon register behaviour Detecting head setting

CLOSED LOOP COLOUR DENSITY CONTROL

Lighting with high brilliance white LED matrix (min hours life time). Closed loop control of both Colour Densities and Chromatic Balance. Information about dot gain, print contrast, slur, trapping for each key, for best colour analysis. Reading of two keys simultaneously (twice as fast as closest competitor system) and immediate correction of the density of the two sectors (not at the end of the web scanning). User friendly. High waste reduction at every make-ready of new jobs: ~1500 copy waste for a 48 pp press.

WEB DEFECTS DETECTION

Continuous paper quality control from roll stand to press delivery. Quick interpretation to distinguish paper breaks due to the web defect, roll prep or press issues. PAPERSCAN: PAPERSCAN: 1 mm 2 defects detection sensitivity for spots, patches, folds, dirt, holes, cuts, breaks, tears and edge-nicks. PAPERSCAN: PAPERSCAN: Lighting system made of LED modules with lifetime higher than hours. BREAKSCAN: BREAKSCAN: Continuous high speed video recording of running web up to 1500m/min. BREAKSCAN: BREAKSCAN: Sequence of events, causes of web breaks, can be analyzed frame by frame.

The system uses two detection modules:

Tears Spots Splices Holes Reel and job data
