Shared Reading  We use a Big Book so the students can see the text

Independent Reading  Books at their own level Kindergarten Beginning of the year: Level A End of the Year: Level C 1 st Grade Beginning of the year: Level C End of the Year: Level I Minimum Reading Expectations

Independent Writing  Writing they create and edit themselves

Guided Reading  Small Group Instruction  Students are grouped with others that have similar abilities

Centers  Independent literacy activities that happen during Guided Reading
