John, The Gospel Of Belief Introduction: It appears that John was written after Matthew, Mark, and Luke. John’s focus is not synoptic, but focuses on Jesus, his nature and being (John 1: 1ff.). Matthew, Mark, and Luke present facts regarding Jesus in Galilee; John focuses mainly on Jesus in Judea.
