Good News! (Mark 1:1-20)

The Gospel of Mark begins with an unlikely message from an unlikely messenger.

Religious leaders (Pharisees and Sadducees) – Matt. 3:7 Tax collectors – Luke 3:12 Soldiers – Luke 3:14 Rich people – Luke 3:10 Poor people – Luke 3:10

“The beginning of the good news about Jesus the Messiah, the Son of God…”

“Until John the Baptist, the law of Moses and the message of the prophets were your guides. But now the Good News of the Kingdom is preached and everyone is eager to get in.”

“For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance that Christ died for sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, and that he was raised on the third day.”

“You are my Son whom I love; with you I am well pleased.” 1:11 “You ARE ALL SONS OF GOD through faith in Christ Jesus, for all of you who were baptized into Christ have CLOTHED YOURSELVES WITH CHRIST.” Gal. 3:26-27
