Dear Coconut Grove Community, The Coconut Grove Chamber of Commerce is now seeking nominations for the prestigious Golden Coconut Awards, which will be presented at the 45th Golden Coconut Awards Cocktail Reception, held on Thursday, January 8, 2015 at The Kampong. These awards will recognize outstanding businesses, organizations and individuals that demonstrate excellence in business and a passion for the community in eight different categories (see page 2 for list of categories). The application process is free for these awards, and nominees do not need to be Chamber Members (but they must currently live or work in the Coconut Grove area). The top three finalists in each category will be announced at the December Networker. These finalists will all be recognized and celebrated at the 45 th Golden Coconut Awards Event on Thursday, January 8, 2015 from 6-8:30pm at The Kampong in Coconut Grove, when the winner in each category will be announced. [ ] Business of the Year: This award is presented to a company that has shown success in a variety of areas: company growth including sales, prospects, community involvement, employment creation and acceptance in the market. They will also illustrate their commitment to innovation and leadership in their sector. [ ] Entrepreneur of the Year: Acknowledges innovators who are creatively making a difference, by recognizing an individual or an organization that has both envisioned and executed on an opportunity. [ ] Non-Profit of the Year: This award is presented to a not-for-profit organization that has filled a need within our community and who through community responsibility, innovation, growth, sound business practices and community partnerships has served the Village of Coconut Grove with vision and integrity. [ ] Small Business of the Year: Honors a business with 15 employees or less for their commitment to strong customer service and community involvement. [ ] Business Leader of the Year: Awarded to an outstanding C-Level or Managing Professional within the community. [ ] Up & Comer of the Year: Awarded to Coconut Grove’s top up & coming young professional who is climbing the charts and has their eyes focused on success (40 years old and under only). [ ] Community Service: Honors outstanding individual/business who gives their time and expertise to the community, above and beyond their own field of endeavor. This individual/business is an inspiration to the community, both in their profession and in their efforts to make Coconut Grove a better place to live, work and play. Golden Coconut Award: This award is presented to a Community Member who has demonstrated a commitment to not only the coconut Grove Chamber but also to the entire Coconut Grove business community and who consistently promotes our community and the Chamber in their business dealings.
