Coaching impediments… Lack of progress or regression Dissatisfaction with the coach or coaching process Stalemates Disregard for the coaching process Disregard for suggestions for constructive change

Cautions for coaches… Sports metaphors are too simplistic---there are few simple answers or quick results Behavioral solutions are insufficient Coaches are not psychologists or psychiatrists

Coaching should… Align energy with the goals of the organization Change counterproductive habits at the individual and organizational levels
