2 NRC Tribal Outreach NRC recognizes unique relationship between Federal government and Tribal governments, and upholds the spirit of Executive Orders and Memorandum: Executive Order (Clinton, November 2000) Executive Memorandum issued by President Obama at White House Tribal Nations Conference (November 2009) NRC interacts with Tribal Governments on a case-by-case basis

NRC Tribal Outreach The NRC meets and collaborates with the National Congress of American Indians to communicate with tribal governments. Mailings to 566 Federally Recognized tribes Rulemaking Activities – Advance Notification of tribes regarding the shipment of certain nuclear fuel shipments and Waste Confidence rule Participation in events sponsored by other Federal agencies and NCAI Outreach on NRC Tribal Policy Development 3
