GSC-14 July 2009 Slide 3 ANSI Interest in Fora/Consortia ANSI has had a long-standing interest in Outreach to Fora/Consortia ANSI Presentation on this subject at GSC-9 by Amy Marasco, ANSI VP and General Counsel at that time  See, GSC-9 JOINT Contribution 033 ANSI National Policy Committee Task Group on Fora/Consortia U.S. Standards Strategy ( provides:  “The system is diverse and inclusive and supports flexible standards solutions. There are many types of Fora/Consortia:  Some are for R&D and other purposes  From a standardization perspective, they can be generally grouped into three types of activities, each doing some or all of the activities: Pre-Standardization: efforts to identify requirements to be standardized or aggregated market requirements Standards/Specification writers: similar to traditional SDOs Technology/Standards Promotion
