Lost Colony of Roanoke North Carolina Jami Hayden:)

Description When John White returned to Roanoke 3 years later he found that none of his establishments were there or any of his people left a trace.

Theories of my enigma They just moved Were killed by Indians Sailed away using their houses’ wood for rafts

Discovery of the Missing People John White was the man who found the people missing, and houses gone, and it has now been known for 400 years since 1587!

Findings Made! Scientists found that Indians had lived in the area before and were not fond of them because of the shortage in food.

View Points Some think that moving or their vanishing was the settlers choice, but others think they loved the area and were forced out or killed.

Dilemmas If White hadn’t returned 3 years late they might not have disappeared. Scientist still debate about if they were killed or if they moved.

Changes More evidence has been found to conclude the theories. A piece of evidence was found on a tree that had the carved word “croatoan.”

fuN FaCtS A tree with the carved word “CROATON” and another saying, ”CRO”, meaning it was unfinished! Only a few Indian tools were found laying on a tree stump. Not even houses were left. The British were in a war with Mexico during this time Roanoke is where North Carolina is now!

MY the0ry;) I think that Mexico went to Roanoke during the war with Britain, tore down everything so Britain wouldn’t be able to grow.
