HHHA Coaching Code of Ethics and Values (C.A.R.)  Comply  Obey the Rules and Regulations set forth by the governing bodies and within the Hyland Hills Jr. Hockey Association (HHHA)  Assist  Support each other at the player, coach and parent levels. Intervene when necessary to improve the character of our club.  Respect  Respect all of those involved in our sport. It’s a great culture – be a part of it not against it!

Program Snap Shot The Goalie Club is created to make being a Goalie within HHHA something extraordinary! It is a commitment by the Association to insure our goalies strive to be successful in a special and unique position.  Components  Director of Goaltending Operations and Development  Mentorship Coaching Program  Goalie Development Ice Training  Levels  8U  DNHL  CCYHL  Critical Event Path

Director of Goaltending Operations and Development (D.O.G.) The following are the expectations of the D.O.G., but not limited to:  Execute the goaltending program developed by the HHHA Hockey Director.  In conjunction with the HD, conduct preseason informational meeting to present the program design for the upcoming season.  In conjunction with the HD, create and follow through with communications to the HHHA goaltending families to ensure knowledge of important dates and events.  In conjunction with the HD, create and implement an Evaluation Program at all levels.  Organize on-ice clinics at the appropriate times during the regular season as well as the off-season.  Maintain the goaltending extra-ice program. Ensure all goalies have instruction with the best available coaching.  The D.O.G. will, when requested, talk with a goalies’ private goalie coach to ensure similar terminology and concepts are being re-enforced.

Mentorship Coaching Program In Conjunction with the HD, the D.O.G. will implement the Goalie Mentorship Program. This program will include the following:  Recruit and assign Mentors to the appropriate divisions. The target ratio will be 1:2 goalie Mentors to Mentees.  The Mentors will try to be on the ice with the Mentees at least once per week  Develop training programs and assist the Mentors to be effective on the ice.  Follow up with Mentors and Mentees to track goalie development.

Goalie Development Ice Training  Over and above regular team practices, designated ice times will be in place to assist in the growth and development of HHHA Goaltenders.  These ice sessions will be of no charge to HHHA Goalies and their Coaches. Private Trainers (coaches for hire) as well as Mentor Coaches are welcome to utilize this ice time to spend extra time with their goalies for individual skill development. Any additional fee charged by private coaches will be the sole responsibility of the individual Goalie.  The D.O.G. will coordinate these ice times as well as be on the ice and available to work with HHHA Goalies.  Set times will be in place by the start of the season. There will probably be one Weekday morning ice slot and one Sunday ice slot that will rotate on an every-other week basis. There will be a maximum schedule of 16 total ice times from September through February. Weekday ice times are anticipated to be 5:45am to 7:00am. Sunday ice times are anticipated to be 7:00am to 8:00am.

8U Goalie Introduction and Development  Beginner  No Goalies as set forth in the USA Hockey ADM Model.  Intermediate  Once teams are formed, a Mentor will be assigned to a team. The D.O.G. will comply with the USA Hockey ADM Model for training and development and ensure that the Mentor has the resources to follow the progression.  Advanced  Once teams are formed, a Mentor will be assigned to a team. The D.O.G. will comply with the USA Hockey ADM Model for training and development and ensure that the Mentor has the resources to follow the progression.  Mentors will be from the Squirt and Pee Wee Divisions.

DNHL Division Goalie Development  Squirt and Pee Wee Divisions:  Each team will be assigned a Goalie Mentor. Mentors will be assigned as follows:  Midget Mentor – Pee Wee Mentee  Bantam Mentor – Squirt Mentee  The D.O.G. will work with the Bantam and Midget Goalies on a structured, set schedule.

CCYHL Division Goalie Development  Squirt and Pee Wee Divisions:  Each team will be assigned a Goalie Mentor. Mentors will be assigned as follows:  Midget Mentor – Pee Wee Mentee  Bantam Mentor – Squirt Mentee  The D.O.G. will work with the Bantam and Midget Goalies on a structured, set schedule.
