CHEERLEADING ― is an organized support of the sportive teams, performed by the group of specially prepared people (mostly women), provided with a special uniform (usually decorated with special club colors) during the competitions. Cheerleading is also a self dependent sportive discipline.

Principles and the early stages of the cheerleading course To consider… …the low level of the physical development of the first year students The beginning stage Learning of the essentials of techniques of the cheerleading In the 1 st semester To boost endurance with the development of the force of the main muscle groups and coordination abilities In the 2 d semester The selective improvement of the speed- power endurance

The general stages of the cheerleading course Techniques of the basic movements, dancing elements, the simple cheerleading combinations Learning and training of the flexibility exercises. Studying of the simple acrobatic elements. 1-2 year students Step-by-step teaching of the advanced combinations of the cheerleading Learning of more complicated variations of the acrobatic elements Creation of more complicated kinds of stunts and pyramids 3-4 year students

1-2 year students. The list of the studied elements Basic cheerleading movements. Lever (front horizontal lever, side horizontal lever). Pirouettes on the both legs, small pirouettes on the one leg. Elements for the active and passive flexibility. Acrobatic elements (stands, rolls, cartwheels). Learning of the greetings («cadences»)

3-4 year students. The list of the studied elements Vertical levers. Big pirouettes on the one leg.. Suppling excersises (splits with a whipping, circular swings of legs). Acrobatic elements (radwendes).

Running the cheerleading competitions High injury risk and the requirement of the special preparation in the nominations of Cheer a special programme of the cheerleading student competitions From the 2009 at the premises of Gubkin RSU the Cheerleading competitions of the Moscow Student Games are performed and based on this programme From the 2008 in Gubkin RSU the University Cheerleading Championship is performed between the faculties

The regulations of the competitions

The competitions are preceded by the official trainings of all the declared teams The order of the official trainings and performances is determined by the competition draw Each team is supposed to present two programs: 1) Short presentation program; 2) Voluntary program.

Running the cheerleading competitions A team consists of 6-18 members, number of which cannot be changed during the official trainings and the competitions. The mandatory condition is to build a programme on the base of the basic cheerleading movements It is prohibited to base programme on the basic elements of fitness-aerobics. The obligatory elements of the programme are: stunts, pyramids, pirouettes, swings, cheers or chants (cadences).

Running the cheerleading competitions The means of agitation with a symbolics of the faculty are very welcome: banners, tablets, flags All complicated elements are strictly forbidden in the student programmes of the Cheer nomination

Rounding up… By participating in the cheerleading competitions the students school themselves to corporate spirit, patriotism and commitment to the ideals of Alma Mater Nowadays the cheerleading is the most popular sport in the University.
