English/Math/Science/Social Studies/Foreign Language  Your current teachers in these areas will be making a recommendation to you.  You should select whatever you want to take on your schedule sheet.  If your choice and the teacher’s choice don’t match, when you meet with the school counselor, this will be discussed.  If you choose to take a lower level from what the teacher recommended, the change will be made.  If you choose to take a higher level from what the teacher recommended, your parent must talk to your current teacher in the subject area and you must turn in a form with the signatures that you will get from your counselor.

AP US HISTORY  11 th grade- if not in Soc/Psych/Econ, have your 10 th grade American Studies teacher sign the schedule sheet if they approve.  10 th grade- may take AP US HISTORY in 11 th grade with recommendation of US History teacher since it will not be taught your Senior year.  9th grade- May take AP US HISTORY with recommendation of current World History teacher.

Physical Education  Only regular Physical Education meets the requirement for graduation  (NOT weightlifting, team sports, coaching or officiating)

Physical Education --If you are using the “PE Exemption” by playing 2 seasons of a sport/band/cheer, circle “P.E. Exemption” on your schedule sheet. You do not have to take PE IF you participate in 2 seasons of a sport/band/cheer. --Pick an extra elective to take the place of PE.

Physical Education  Grade If by the end of this school year you have not completed.5 credit of PE OR have 2 signed exemption forms (1 per activity) on file in the guidance office, you will automatically be added to PE.  PE will stay on your schedule until you AND parent sign the opt-out form AND turn it into your school counselor.

Study Hall  You may only have 1 study hall per semester. You don’t have to have one.  No credit for study hall  Circle “Semester Study Hall” or “Year Long Study Hall”

Eligibility  1.5 GPA  Passing 5 classes worth.5 credit or 1 credit. (Don’t include PE, weightlifting, or support, or courses you are re-taking)  Take an extra class to protect your eligibility!!!!
