Commonwealth students enjoy a Big West Basketball game, as they are rewarded for completing the Fast Break Program

Commonwealth Elementary “The Fast Break Program is very well organized and is designed to be enjoyed by all students. The Personal Responsibility section was perfect for our students. They enjoyed the program and the activities offered. Fast break was the real deal for our students and we are already looking forward to having the program back at Commonwealth next year. Fast Break is fun, enjoyable and very easy to implement in the classroom or during your P.E. periods. Have fun and enjoy this super organized and easy to use program. Thank you Fast Break and thank you Big West.” Larry Herschler, P.E. Specialist Commonwealth Elementary, Fullerton

Students pose with P.E. Specialist, Larry Herschler, as the Big West pays a visit to Commonwealth

Commonwealth Elementary Students show the work they completed for the Personal Responsibility lesson

Cheer on your local University Throughout the program help cheer on your local University and support local Division I college basketball

Overall Goals We want to help educate students about healthy lifestyles and obtaining their goals We want to introduce this program to educators locally, because the program has been a success through-out the nation “The students loved the idea of doing something with the NCAA and involving basketball. They thought they were doing a game activity instead of some stuff out of the book. The students could relate to the information involving basketball and loved the hands-on opportunity.” - Chad Evan, Napoleon Public School, Napoleon, North Dakota

General Questions Can I change the lesson plans a little if I want to incorporate it a different way? Does this cost the school, or myself any money? Is it time consuming? What if I commit to the program, but do not finish? Who do I contact if I have any questions?
