2011 Apple Valley Staff Meeting

AVHS Team Success Athletics: Three State Championships Wrestling, Boys Soccer, Co-Ed Competition Cheer Two State Third Place Finishes Dance Team, Girls Track and Field Three Section Championships Ten Section Academic Award- winning Teams Two Teams Ranked in the Top 10 of the Nation Wrestling #1 Soccer #7

AVHS Team Success Arts and Activities Vocal Music – Five in the 9 th & 10 th grade All State Choir, three other students in All State Choir and two at the Oregon Bach Festival. Instrumental Music – Four in All State Symphonic Band and three in the All State Jazz Ensemble.

AVHS Team Success Arts and Activities AVHS Quiz Bowl won the SSC Championship. Science Olympiad – Top three in the state 18 of the past 26 years! Dance Program is one of the largest in the state – 165 students! Student Council/NHS – thousands and thousands of volunteer hours

AVHS Success: Speech and Debate Speech – 14 All-Conference selection Two out of three all-conference honors in the Lincoln-Douglas debate Two state champions and nine state medalists 2011 National Champion Nader Helmy Two other Top 12 finishers in the National Tournament

AVHS Success: EaglEye EaglEye received 9 nominations for the High School STV Awards. They received five Upper Midwest Regional Emmy Awards on August 20 th !

MSHSL Challenge Cup EXCELLENCE in athletics and the fine arts. It's what schools need to win the Minnesota State High School League Challenge Cup. Awarded annually to three high schools, the Challenge Cup is a statewide, year-long competition among League member schools. Points are awarded to schools based on their success in section and state fine arts and athletics tournaments.
