JTED Background Joint Technological Education District Passed with Proposition 400, November 2007 Funded under AZ House Bill 2700 JTEDs started in Phoenix area 10 years ago 11 JTEDs state-wide ADM and local tax base funding 11 school districts participate in Pima County JTED Currently: 11 member school board representing each district November 2009: School districts voted to have JTED board become a 5 member board representing County Supervisor Districts SY: 07/08 First year funding Based on JTED courses unduplicated count Student ratio 4:1 ADM to JTED 47% of SUSD high school students are enrolled in one or more CTE/JTED course Distribution to member districts based on JTED Board Discretion not a formula All budgets submitted must be presented to JTED Business and Industry Advisory Board before submittal and approval by JTED Board Districts may ask for additional funding above yearly allotment for special projects Students enrolled in 9-12 high schools/home school/charter/private can attend any JTED course offered in Pima County (space available) Must offer ADE Approved CTE Programs Satellite vs. Central Campus Satellite locations (administered through IGAs & RFPs): Local High Schools, Businesses, Colleges Central Sites: JTED location (staffed & administered by JTED)
