Quick Passing Concepts Schemes, reads, footwork and mechanics for success in quick passing game.

Quick reads – 1 side / 1 defender Scheme Quick routes – 1 cut Quick reads – 1 side / 1 defender Quickly getting the ball into the hands of our athletes

Scheme Mirrored routes (both sides are doing the same thing) Puts 2 plays in one players zone of defense. Used to force the defense to change its plan and stretch their responsibilities.

Footwork / Coaching Points Shotgun 1 step drop Catch and Throw Right Footwork Shown Rt foot perpendicular to target (behind Lt foot) Left foot steps 6 inches outside the target Must turn shoulders to get power on the throw! L L R R

Post-Snap Reads Single defensive player read Inside out: Used to attack the outside linebacker (Dog) Forces the dog to choose between two players in his flat or curl zones. Used in the Slants, Hitches, Bend passes 3rd Receivers are man options to attack good matchups

Post-Snap Reads Single defensive player read High low: Used to attack a corner forcing him to cover two players in his sideline zone. Used in the Fade 3rd receiver runs control routes to help vs. man coverage

Dog Read: Stressing the OLB (red)

Dog Read: Force him to cover both the flat and the curl zones (yellow)

Dog Read: Use routes that make him expose his responsibility

Dog Read: Use routes that make him expose his responsibility (Inside or out)

Corner Read: Stressing the corner (red)

Corner Read: Force him to cover both the numbers and the flats zones (yellow)

Corner Read: Use routes that make him expose his responsibility
