Purpose of Attack on Pearl Harbor  Japan wanted power and military expansion.  They wanted rich resources.  They were angry at us.  Japan realized that only the U.S. Navy could stop them.

 2,403 people died  347 planes were damaged or destroyed  About 33 ships were destroyed or sunk  Japanese - Americans were disgraced They were thrown into interment camps  Japan lost some of their military vehicles Effects of attack on Pearl Harbor

Lingering Effects on Japanese Americans  A lot of people were arrested and sent to interment camps  They lost their jobs  The men’s job were left vacant  They struggled for money  Schools were closed temporarily because of damage and safety

Solutions used to cease the war  The U.S. dropped atomic bombs on two Japanese islands  The U.S. island hopped  We cracked their military code  We killed a lot of Japanese people
