Houston Striders 2010 Distinguished Member Awards
Runner of the Year - Criteria- Runners must be current members, representing the Houston Striders in HARRA competitions World Association of the Veteran Athletes (WAVA) tables are used to calculate age-graded data over seven distances Marathon, 30k, 25k, half-marathon, 10 mile, 10k and 5k One best performance from each category is used to select the 3 best performances Members that run for another club in the HARRA competition are excluded Winners cannot win the same division two years in a row

Open Female - Merits % WAVA average for three best distances Best result was 67.2% for Bayou City Classic 10k Participated in all of our relays (Cross Country, Bayou Bash, and Beach to Bay Relays)

Most Improved Female Runner - Highlights- Consistently improved throughout the year Best performance in 2010 is 11% higher than 2009 In 2010, best fall performance is 11% higher than early spring races Fall 10 miler age-graded performance improved by 12% shaving off 11 minutes from her time
