Saratoga By Matt and Emilio

The Revolutionary War The Revolutionary War lasted 8 years, from 1775 to 1783 (including the causes of the war). It was during a period of time when we only had 13 colonies. It was in order for those colonies to gain independence from the British, because we were under their power.

What was Saratoga? Saratoga was one of the most important areas of battle in the Revolutionary War. It was a spot where a cannon was set to blow up British fleets.

The Battle of Saratoga The Battle of Saratoga represents the turning point in the Revolutionary War. General John Burgoyne created a plan to attack the Patriots. He was going to attack from the Hudson River. He got hit by a cannonball.

The Hudson River Most of this river lies inside of the state of New York. It was a very important spot when it comes to winning the Revolutionary War. It was important because without it we never would have had Saratoga.

The Cannon The cannon at Saratoga was used to blow up things like British Fleet ships.

More on the Battles at Saratoga The Battles at Saratoga were two successive battles in the Revolutionary War. The Saratoga Campaign was fought in upstate New York and that permanently ended the British hopes of dividing the colonies along the Hudson River.
