8 th Grade STAAR Testing TEA requires all 8 th grade students pass the Reading STAAR test in order to be promoted to 9 th grade. It is imperative that you encourage reading at home daily for 30 minutes. STAAR testing days: March 30, 31 & April 21, % Attendance is the district expectation. Please be sure your child attends school on these important testing days.
