Boys learn slower than Girls - what's the evidence? By Charlotte Hughes

I predict that boys learn slower than girls ok to make things clear Chimps are one of the closet animals to humans A scientist named Elizabeth Lonsdorf investigated 14 young Chimps for four years. She videoed them learning to ‘fish’ for termites By poking sticks and grass into termite mounds. She watched and discovered that young girl chimps learnt quicker than males

My method People have proven that boys are better at interpreting maps and graphs People have also proven that girls (usually) learn to write quicker than boys so to test I took three girls and three boys and said to locate three things on one page of a map book and I will do this three times for all girls and all boys they all had to locate the same things And for girls I will write a bunch of letters on the bored and they will both have to write them down I will repeat this three times.

I conclude that boys are better at interpreting maps than girls and are better with spatial awareness

I wrote Bguytopylus Loputyopm Qsadcjnjjgjlld On the board (at separate times) and I tested who could remember more of it in the quickest time and girls on average were 4.9 seconds faster than the boys average. I asked one of the girls afterwards why they thought they were quicker and she said ‘I split it up into smaller words’ so for e.g.: b-guy-top-y-lus or Lo-put-yo-pm or even Q-sad-cj-njj-gill-d

My conclusion from my girls test From my results I have discovered that girls and boys have different ways of thinking and girls have a more efficient way of thinking

TRUE FALSE MALES LEARN SLOWER THAN FEMALES – I know this because males and females think differently ALL FEMALE CHIMPS ARE EQUALLY GOOD AT CATCHING TERMITES THERE IS NO VARIATION FROM ONE INDIVIDUAL TO ANOTHER – This is false because they are all at different ages and have different genes so for eg. A baby cant walk like an adult so a baby chimp can’t catch termites the same as its mum Boys and girls inherit fine motor skills differently – this is false because I proved that environmental differences is the cause of fine motor skills not what they inherited Boys and girls learn different skills because they are treated differently – for e.g. a son might be aloud to go to school but if the daughter isn’t because they are treated differently the boy learns better skills Some girls are no good at catching termites even though their mothers are very good at it – we inherit some characteristics not all of them Every female chimp is better that hunting than every male chimp- some male chimps might inherit the mothers gene of being able to catch termites well CAN’T TELL The only chimps good at catching termites are those who’s mothers treat them well- you can’t tell because in some cases it could be true in others the chimps might inherit genes in which there good at catching termites. All sisters in a chimp family are equally good at catching termites - this is false because all the chimps don’t inherit the same genes as there sisters do
