Presentation transcript:

A Note from the Principal April brings us to our end of the year tests with 3 rd and 4 th grade students taking the MAP test in ELA (English Language Arts) and Math beginning April 20 th and continuing through May 1 st. This year is different as we will take our first online MAP test rather than the paper & pencil test that we have taken in past years. The testing window is rather large as all grade levels 3-8 in the district cannot be on the computers at the same time due to our infrastructure limitations. Mallory will be using approximately 50 computers at a time for MAP testing as advised by our tech department. One wonderful benefit of taking an online MAP test is that we will receive student test results much quicker. April & May also brings us to our final STAR Reading and Math assessments. All 1st through 4th grade students will be taking the STAR Reading and Math assessments and our Kindergarten students will take the STAR Early Literacy assessments. This will be the 5th round of this district standardized assessment. We will use the results to determine just how much growth our students have made since the beginning of the year. It will also help us determine what areas we need to focus on in order to help our students continue to grow. Wanda Johnson VISION: Every DA Mallory Elementary School student will be prepared to succeed in the next grade level. Mission: Building a Better ME It is our hope that as we each individually strive to be a better “me,” we will collectively be striving to make a better Mallory Elementary.
