“The meek” but the Lord was ‘meek’ because he had the infinite resources of God at His command W.E. Vine – The common assumption is that when a man is meek it is because he cannot help himself; but the Lord was ‘meek’ because he had the infinite resources of God at His command {cf. 1 Pet 2:23}. Meekness is the opposite to self-assertiveness & self-interest; it is a spirit that is neither elated nor cast down, simply because it is not occupied with self at all.

“The meek” “Come to Me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you I am meek and humble in heart Take My yoke upon you & learn from Me, for I am meek and humble in heart, and YOU WILL FIND REST FOR YOUR SOULS” (Matt 11:29). We must be meek & humble to work with Him.

“inherit the earth” The present application – Matt 6:25-33 – Phil 4:18-20 – 1 Cor 3:9, – 2 Cor 6:3-10

“inherit the earth” The future application – 2 Peter 3:13 – 1 Peter 1:3-6 – Rom 8:16-17 – Parable of the Guests: Luke 14:7-14

“It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give to the one who thirsts from the spring of the water of life without cost. 7 He who overcomes will inherit these things, and I will be his God and he will be My son.” (Rev 21:6-7)
