W HY DID THE U NITED S TATES IMPLEMENT THE M ARSHALL PLAN IN W ESTERN E UROPE AFTER W ORLD W AR 2? To restore the government of Western Europe after World War 2, to rebuild Europe after World War 2 and form key alliances with democratic nations to help Russia recover from World War 2.

W HICH BENEFIT DID THE U NITED S TATES GAIN BY PROVIDING AID TO W ESTERN E UROPE UNDER THE E CONOMIC R ECOVERY P ROGRAM ? Germany got a really raw deal this was a contributing factor to the second World War, so the US was afraid of a third one and they gave Western Europe loans to ensure stability and prosperity.

W HAT WAS THE LONG TERM IMPACT OF THE M ARSHALL P LAN ? It gave support to help rebuild European economics after the end of the World War 2.

T HE U NITED S TATES ATTEMPTED TO LIMIT THE SPREAD OF C OMMUNISM IN W ESTERN E UROPE AFTER W ORLD W AR 2 BY ? The Marshall plan

W HAT EVENT WAS A RESULT OF THE M ARSHALL PLAN ? the American program to aid Europe where the United States gave monetary support to help rebuild European economies after the end of World War II in order to prevent the spread of Soviet Communism

W HAT WAS DESIGNED TO CREATE ECONOMIC STABILITY IN E UROPE AFTER WWII THROUGH THE USE OF $13 BILLION IN U. S. LOANS & INVESTMENTS ? the Organization for European Economic Co- operation

M ARSHALL PLAN WAS PART OF WHICH LARGER PRESIDENTIAL DOCTRINE ? The Marshall plan was part of the Truman Doctrine

H OW DID THE SOVIET UNION BELIEVE E UROPE WOULD ECONOMICALLY BENEFIT THE U.S. UNDER THE M ARSHALL PLAN ? The soviet union refused making the United States efforts in stopping communism & making America the world's most important economic power.

H OW DID THE S OVIET U NION BELIEVE E UROPE WOULD ECONOMICALLY BENEFIT THE U NITED S TATES UNDER THE M ARSHALL P LAN ? Stalin was interested in it at first because he thought he would be able to control the majority of it but then he thought it would make the other countries stronger and he would lose the Soviet influence on Eastern Europe. Other countries declined it in fear of getting on his bad side including Poland, Finland and Czechoslovakia.

W HAT WAS ONE OF THE UNINTENDED EFFECTS OF THE U NITED S TATES INSTITUTION OF THE M ARSHALL P LAN IN E UROPE ? It helped Europe and Japan a little too much and they were able to build their industries which ended up hurting the USA’s business and ultimately the wealth of the country.

W HY WAS IT GENERALLY BELIEVED THAT THE M ARSHALL P LAN WAS VITAL TO THE ECONOMIC AND MILITARY STABILITY IN THE U NITED S TATES AND E UROPE ? We feared that because their countries were so weak and broke they would turn to a communist country so that helped us Military wise to prevent future wars. Also, with Europe back on its feet we would be able to open free trade again and that would help our industry.

W HY WAS A COMPLETELY REBUILT AND FUNCTIONING E UROPE IMPORTANT TO THE U.S. ECONOMY ? The US and Europe could be a role model for democracy throughout the world and be used to make an impression on the world together. They have similar interests and can trade with each other and make money off of each other.
