GLASGOW CLYDE COLLEGE Fuel Cell Know How Country Specific Seminar

 Three distinct Target Groups  Skilled Workers  Apprentices  Trainers/Lecturers Each of these groups will receive a seminar aimed at their current skill set to enable them to install, commission and service fule cell central heating appliances

Pre- requisites are as follows: 1. Skilled workers: CCN1, SENWAT and CPA1 for Gas course. 17 Th Edition for electrical course. 2. Apprentices: must be working towards one of the above qualifications 3.Trainers: As above(1)

Programme Content: It is our intention to carry out training on all four modules for all participants. This will mainly be theoretical in nature as the actual equipment we have is limited. We will be purchasing single fuel cells as per the allocated Budget. We will also have a model house to use for demonstration purposes. The delivery model of this training will be a Blended learning one where online learning materials and activities will underpin the class room activity.

 We will use existing apprentices and training groups as participants.  We will offer the training out to other colleagues in other Campuses, FE institutions and the private sector in Scotland.  We will use our database of participants who come to us for regular training in regard to the current regulations. We will contact them and managing agents, sector skills councils etc will also be offered this training.

Preparotory Activities are as follows:  Finding, booking and paying for accommodation and hospitality.  Organising and checking equipment incl models, fuel cells, ICT, presentation materials.  Staffing incl backfilling where required.

Partnerships: Present contacts will be approached with a view to develop further partnership working. Professional bodies, local Authorities and SMEs will also be part of this process Manufacturers will be approached to see about sponsorship or the provision of equipment.
