As part of the CTSA Consortium we are encouraged to provide VIVO technology for building collaborations across CTSAs VIVO is an open-source, semantic application originally developed and implemented at Cornell VIVO facilitates discovery of researcher interests, activities, and accomplishments which enables networking capability for scientific researchers across disciplines. Profiles is a research networking and expertise mining software tool that has VIVO technology Creating a Profile is FREE to you!

Three types of information are displayed on your Profile (managed descriptions, passive networks, and active networks) Managed Descriptions include: – Typical demographic information – Automatic PubMed search preloads publications – Manual revisions can be made to publications – Add Award Information about yourself – Add a narrative or photo of yourself

Passive networks can not be edited by you – When common traits are shared by faculty a linkage is made by the software Same department, building, co-author on publication, or used the same MeSH keywords in a publication Active networks can be edited by you – Network is defined by faculty member Search Profiles for faculty to select as a collaborator, advisor, or advisee
