Facts About Discarding Computers 20 to 50 million metric tons of e-waste are disposed every year Only around 15% of e-waste is currently recycled 80 to 85% of electronic products were thrown to landfills or incinerators  produce toxic gases  acid rain e-waste will cause damage to humans’ body (e.g. blood and kidneys)

Where do the old computers go? 80% of the e-waste ends up in developing countries like China, India or Nigeria low-wage workers bathed the computers parts like CPUs in acid to retrieve metal components people there are exposed to chemicals like mercury, lead or other toxic substances Rest of the wastes will go to landfills

What can you do with your old computers - Donation Choice 1: Donation Try to donate the computer (As many parts as you can) Reuse always comes first, think if you really need a new one before you donate or throw them away.
