Thesis Statement It is the people’s choice whether they want to go to fast food restaurants or not. Based on research I think that fast food restaurants are notto blame for American obesity.

Point 1 People make frivolous cases against fast food chains when eating too much of their food A law has been passed that bans these frivolous cases It is not the fast food chains fault that the people are eating too much

"We've got to get back to those old- fashioned principles of personal responsibility, of common sense, and get away from this new culture where everybody plays the victim and blames other people for their problems." said the bill's author, Rep. Ric Keller, R-Florida.

Point 2 Fast food companies do not force the public to buy their food People have the choice of what foods to eat They should choose wisely when picking meals

"It's hard to believe that trial lawyers want to make the claim that 'Ronald McDonald made me do it,' " House Majority Leader Tom DeLay, R-Texas, said about the issue. "The point of this debate is all about personal responsibility. If you eat too much, you will gain weight."

Counter Point Fast food companies lie to people about what's in their food They get people to eat their food to just get money They target children with flashy advertisements because they are impressionable

“Fast food chains do not alert their customers to the hazardously high calorie and fat content of the food they offer. They deserve some of the blame for the epidemic of obesity”, says Jenny Murphy.

9 Restaurants

In conclusion, fast food restaurants are not solely responsible for American obesity. It is the choice of the individual to decide whether to eat fast food or not. It is okay to eat fast food sometimes just not multiple times in a week. If people start eating healthy portions of food, they can be more physically fit. It is not the fast food chains fault that people do not make the right choices about what to eat. So make the right choices when choosing foods.
