WAS AN INFLUENTIAL WESTERN PHILOSOPHER WHO NEVER WROTE A WORD HIMSELF. HIS CONTRIBUTION TO THE STUDY OF PHILOSOPHY WAS TO REDIRECT QUERIES TOWARD QUESTIONS OF ETHICAL CONDUCT.
