Franklin D. Roosevelt  The 32 nd U.S President ( ), led the nation through both the Great Depression and World War 2  Helped American people regain faith in themselves  Brought hope and promised prompt, vigorous action, and asserted in his Inaugural Address, “the only thing we have to fear is fear itself”
