SFDC Mission The primary mission of SFDC is to:  Stimulate, foster, coordinate, plan, improve and encourage quality economic development on Richmond Highway  Promote quality redevelopment  Facilitate the creation of new jobs  Increase investment and diversify the tax base through the attraction of new businesses  Expand & retain existing businesses

Organization  SFDC is comprised of an 18 member volunteer board  Four Committees  Executive Director  Marketing Manager  SFDC Intern

Planning Area SFDC is responsible to encourage and promote the redevelopment and revitalization of Richmond Highway (Rt. 1), stretching from the Capital Beltway/I-495 to Fort Belvoir, comprised of six commercial nodes:  North Gateway  Penn Daw  Groveton  Hybla Valley  Mount Zephyr  Woodlawn

FOUR KEY AREAS OF CONCENTRATION Organization – Ensure SFDC remains a fully- funded organization committed to revitalizing and redeveloping Richmond Highway Design – Use Urban Planning guidelines, encourage property owners to develop, high-quality, pedestrian- oriented projects with streetscapes, and visually attractive architectural design concepts, that will create a sense of place Marketing – Promote and position Richmond Hwy as a competitive player in the regional market place Economic Development – retaining and helping our existing businesses with growth opportunities
