Trip Generation Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE) Trip Generation Manuals Industry standard 145 units = 60 two-way trips during the AM peak period This volume, combined with current traffic volume, will be accommodated satisfactorily. Minimum thresholds are far from being met for this intersection.

Traffic Volume Existing volume in AM peak hour = Approximately 100 vehicles (two way) Capacity of a single lane = 800 vehicles/hr or 1600 for both lanes In summary, existing volume is approximately 10% of capacity.
