Parks, Recreation, & Tourism Management Graduate Student Association

Mission Statement The mission of the Graduate Student Association of the Department of Parks, Recreation and Tourism Management is to support students in their course of study and enhance each student’s overall NC State graduate experience by promoting professional development, encouraging scholarly pursuits, and facilitating networking and social endeavors. The GSA will support the department in its efforts to produce lifelong learners and leaders in a global society committed to developing parks, recreation, tourism, and sport resources that improve the quality of life and are environmentally, socially, and economically sustainable.

Goals and Objectives Academic –Encourage idea exchange amongst graduate students and faculty –Mentor new students –Provide academic support –Create article sharing database –Develop and facilitate PRTM specific seminars

Goals and Objectives Professional –Encourage conference participation and submission of publications –Encourage development of teaching and research skills through participation in university sponsored programs –Facilitate career and job networks
