“Now these things became our examples, to the intent that we should not lust after evil things as they also lusted.”

 “And the sons of the prophets said to Elisha, “See now, the place where we dwell with you is too small for us.”  Verse 2 – “Please, let us go to the Jordan, and let every man take a beam from there, and let us make there a place where we may dwell.”

 “Schools of the Prophets were instituted for the purpose of training young men for the prophetical and priestly offices.”  The first mention of the sons of the prophets is found in 1 Samuel 19.

 There are three things that are important in this passage:  1) Place;  2) Prophet;  3) The Plan.

 Place is important in the Word of God. What God does is usually tied to a place.  God made place before He made people!  He first designed and created a garden and then made Adam and assigned him to care for it.

 2 Kings 6:2 – “Please, let us go to the Jordan, and let every man take a beam from there, and let us make there a place where we may dwell. And he answered, ‘Go’.”

 We are trying to build with ax handles that have no ax head. The ax head is the anointing of the Holy Spirit.

 We need to recover: 1. Personal Integrity  Proverbs 11:3  The integrity of the upright will guide them, But the perversity of the unfaithful will destroy them.(NKJV)

 Job 2:3  Then the LORD said to Satan, "Have you considered My servant Job, that there is none like him on the earth, a blameless and upright man, one who fears God and shuns evil? And still he holds fast to his integrity, although you incited Me against him, to destroy him without cause."(NKJV)

2. Sexual Purity  Our society is obsessed with sex and impurity. The church has allowed this to enter the church and it is almost becoming normal behavior. Instead of the church influencing the world, we've let the world influence the church.

 God is looking for those who will make purity a priority in their lives.  We are sending the message to our young that it is okay to participate by watching impure, ungodly shows on TV or the internet.

Acts 15:20 but that we write to them to abstain from things polluted by idols, from sexual immorality, from things strangled, and from blood.(NKJV)

1 Thessalonians 4:3 For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you should abstain from sexual immorality;(NKJV)

1 Corinthians 6:18 Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body.(NKJV)

Romans 12:1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.(NKJV)

3. Genuine, miraculous anointing We must be a supernatural people. If we are not careful, the IPHC will become a program and programs don't change people. One of the greatest tools of the church is the anointing.

"The anointing comes for a reason and it will stay for a season."

Mark 16:17-18 And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover."(NKJV)

Judges 6:13 Gideon said to Him, "O my lord, if the LORD is with us, why then has all this happened to us? And where are all His miracles which our fathers told us about, saying, 'Did not the LORD bring us up from Egypt?' But now the LORD has forsaken us and delivered us into the hands of the Midianites."(NKJV)

Miracles are not about people but about a Person.

James 5:14 Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord.(NKJV)
