Business Diversity – DFW Beliefs Ensure that opportunities created by expenditure of Airport funds are available to MWBEs DFW spent $2.2 billion million on construction, design, and other procurement services with 38% or $490 million to MWBEs Remain as the catalyst for growth of small, minority and women-owned businesses in the region Provide capacity-building tools and pathways for all companies that do business with DFW to grow, prosper and succeed Provide more access to Airport contracts for all small businesses, including minority- and women-owned firms Strive for Operational Excellence in the Airport’s procurement, contracting processes and procedures Follow the guidance of recent court decisions in implementing race- and gender- conscious programs

Program Development – History Timeline 2008 DFW joined the NCTCOG Consortium for Availability & Disparity Study 2009 A&D and Supplemental Study conducted by Mason Tillman & Associates 2010 Completion of Study Legal Review conducted 2011 Board adopted Study Findings Begin internal & external stakeholder meetings to develop program recommendations 2012 Sept.: Board adopts SBE-M/WBE Policy Oct. 1: SBE-M/WBE Policy goes into effect for new solicitations

Tips for Doing Business with DFW Do your homework first: Who is DFW? Are we a prospective client? Do we utilize your product or service? How do we procure your product or service? New Supplier Registration (Online Vendor Registration) Are you S/D/M/WBE certified? Do you have the required insurance/bonding? Check website on a weekly basis for current solicitations Attend pre-bid/proposal and outreach conferences to meet potential bidders/proposers, airport staff and learn about bidding & proposal requirements Fully understand bid/proposal requirements and deadlines When in doubt, ASK! Late means late! Upon successful contract award, deliver customer excellence! If at first you don’t succeed, request a debrief, then try and try again.
