Setting The story takes place during the winter in the 1900’s. This time is important to the story because Mr. Popper was able to raise a penguin in the winter. If it was summer, the penguins would not be able to survive in the heat of Stillwater. The main location where the story takes place is a home on Stillwater, and outside. Is imporantant

The thing that is preventing Mr. Popper from goal which is, that he has a family to take care of and he does not have a lot of money.

Penguins Captain Cook is important to story because, Captain Cook was the first penguin Mr. Popper got, when he got lonely Mr. Popper called “someone” to get more penguins. When he received more penguins they had babies so Captain Cook was not lonely anymore.
