The average temperature of the everglades ranges from 64 degrees (F)-84 degrees (F) The everglades is mild and pleasant during the winter with temperatures rarely reaching freezing during the summer the everglades is much warmer and has about a 90% humidity Climate of the everglades

The rain is a very important part of the everglades without it the swamps and shallow arenas of the everglades water levels would fall greatly During the hurricane season if a hurricanes and tropical storms may affect the area The rainy season of the everglades is between June and October averaging about 60 inches of rainfall

Human impact on the Everglades environment More then half of the original swamps have been destroyed for crops, grazing livestock, and building houses There are 16 endangered and 6 threatened wildlife species

Everglades Everglades conservation In 1905 when N. B. Broward was elected governor with his promise to drain every drop of water out of that “pestilence-ridden swamp” In the 1980’s the environmentalists said the everglades was dying, even though in 1947 part of the everglades was named a national park Now the U.S. army corps who supervised the draining and bulldozing in 1905 are now trying to save the everglades

Everglades conservation In 1992 Audubon started the biggest restoration project in the history of the world by not only trying to conserve the everglades but to restore some of what has been lost The everglades has decreased in over 50% its size although the everglades national park has increased by 406,000 acres in attempt to help conserve what's left of the everglades
