Major Strikes Haymarket Riot Homestead Strike Pullman Strike Chicago, 1886 protestors threw a bomb into the crowd. 8 anarchists were convicted of murder Homestead Strike Steel plant workers call for a strike, Henry Frick hires Pinkertons who then kill some of the strikers, public starts to turn against unions Pullman Strike Workers were required to live in the town they worked in. Eugene V. Debs organizes a strike that halted production with 300,000 railway men on strike. Debs was imprisoned for going against the federal government. Debs appealed his case and the Supreme Court stated the government could not halt his strike.
