All nouns in Spanish are either masculine or feminine. Masculine nouns un libro un bolígrafo Un cuaderno Un sacapuntas un lápiz Feminine nouns Una regla Una mochila una calculadora Unas tijeras

In English we use colors as adjectives before a noun eg:- a yellow pencil, a red book, a blue pen un lápiz amarillo un libro rojo un bolígrafo azul In Spanish we use colors as adjectives after a noun. Un / Una = A / An (Mas & fem singular) Unos / Unas = A few / A pair of (Mas & Fem plural) A pair of purple scissors = Unas tijeras moradas A few pink notebooks = Unos cuadernos rosados

¿Qué color es? Es un crayón rojo.

¿Qué color es? Es un bolígrafo morado.

¿Qué color es? Es un sacapuntas amarillo.

¿Qué color es? Es un lápiz anaranjado.

They describe feminine nouns. The endings of the words for these colors have changed! Why do you think these words are different? They describe feminine nouns.
