3Introduction  Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore (IDA), the regulatory agency for telecommunications equipment including EMC, recognises conformity assessment bodies (CABs) designated by the Designating Authority of Mutual Recognition Arrangement (MRA) partners, and accepts results of the conformity assessment performed by these bodies to IDA’s technical regulations and administrative arrangements.

7 Scheme for Recognizing Certification Bodies Criteria for Certification Bodies -  Must be a legal entity with local presence in the MRA partner country  Accredited to IEC/ISO Guide 65 in the relevant areas of telecommunications, EMC and safety  Have test facilities accredited to IEC/ISO in the relevant areas of telecommunications, EMC and safety and/or  Have arrangements with testing laboratories that are recognised by IDA under MRA

13 Administration Procedures MRA Equipment Registration (MER) Scheme -  Applies to equipment certified by certification bodies designated/recognised by IDA  Applies to local suppliers & overseas manufacturers/suppliers from countries of MRA partners  Registration requirements (Annex 1D of IDA Type Approval Guide) -Registration Form, certification of conformity, SDoC, general information & fee of S$100  Registration number (ABCDE-M1234-YYYY) -Approval by IDA for sale -Validity is 5 years
