GOOGLE EARTH API What is the Google Earth API? The Google Earth Plug-in and its JavaScript API let you embed Google Earth, a true 3D digital globe, into your web pages. Using the API you can draw markers and lines, drape images over the terrain, add 3D models, or load KML files, allowing you to build sophisticated 3D map applications. If you have an existing Maps API site, you can 3D- enable your page with as little as one line of code.
GOOGLE SKETCHUP SketchUpSketchUp is a free utility that allows you to create 3D models for Google Earth. The program is basically a CAD tool, and although it offers Google Earth support, it can be used to create other types of drawings and 3D models as well. Perhaps one of the most useful features is that you can download 3D buildings and other objects from an online library. Once you do, you can use the model in its existing form or you can use the drawing tools to modify it.
