2 Agenda Item F/5 September 8, 2009 Site Description: Border Field State Park (BFSP) is on southwest corner of United States and within Tijuana River National Estuarine Research Reserve (TRNERR). 8 Tijuana River Valley Recovery Team Action Teams and Mandates Border Action Team: Develop and implement solutions on California side that will capture and divert trash, tires, and sediment before it reaches the Tijuana River Valley. Cleanup Action Team: Characterize and cleanup trash, tires, and manage sediment in the Tijuana River channel. Restoration Action Team: Develop and implement restoration, mitigation, and flood control features of the Tijuana River Valley ecosystem. Bi-National Action Team: Identify sources of trash, tires, and sediment in the Tijuana River Valley watershed that impact the floodplain and recommend, establish, and implement a plan to abate and manage these sources in cooperation with Mexican agencies.
