Stage of progress Regions Activity plan is not finalized and not approved The basic framework of the activity plan was agreed among the cluster players. MAJOR ACTIVITIES 1.Implemented Support Modules for Industry Cluster Capacity Enhancement North Luzon:  Coffee: capability building cum pre-investment matching for coffee growers in CAR; advocacy on coffee beans quality standards thru Nestle Philippines; turned over 3 equipment to beneficiaries of SSF  Milkfish: Regional Bangus Summit; awarded SSF to 3 milkfish industry org./associations;  Dairy: training on the improvement of feed and feeding system; animal health management and conduct of massive artificial insemination; provided SSF on dairy collection, processing and marketing  Bamboo: database build-up using GPS & GIS – DENR surveyed bamboo stands in Region 3 provinces; Capability building on nursery and plantation establishment and management

MAJOR ACTIVITIES South Luzon:  ICT (R4A): promo collaterals for the Japan Study Mission; study mission in Japan  Wearables & Homestyle (R5): training needs identification; research and learning Japanese market trends for W & H & GDH Industry Clusters; market tie- up & technology sourcing in Cebu and Metro Manila :Visayas  GDH: market research on green products, technology, trends & buyers’ profile  ICT & ICT Services: IT assessment and certifications; Visayas-based technology business incubation (TBI)  Health & Wellness: website developed  Tourism: souvenir product development of Reg. 7

MAJOR ACTIVITIES Mindanao:  Rubber (R9): rubber production & expansion program; rubber quality improvement advocacy program  Poultry (R10): capability building and development program; forum on AEC integration focusing on poultry industry perspective  Tuna (R12): training on PTRACE, GMP, & orientation on international standards  Palm Oil: top level industry forum on tenurial policy issues; Phil. oil palm industry roadmap Metro Davao:  Seaweed: developed nursery farm (1/4 ha.); value-adding and enterprise development for sustainable seaweed industry  Banana: promotion of Cavendish banana in the domestic market; promotional tours around Cebu provinces and product launching  Mango: Mango Rejuvenation project in Davao del Sur; farmers field school lecture and demo on adoption of GAP

MAJOR ACTIVITIES Metro Davao:  Coconut: organizational diagnosis and strategic planning cum leaders convergence; converged with the Tourism cluster for the development and promotion of coco-food based projects  Mining: ARM Trainers’ training module in 2013; mine visits in Palawan  Tourism: School of Living Tradition training in Samal, Davao City and Sta. Cruz, Davao del Sur  ICT: LIVEX project launched during the Innovation Expo 2013  Wood: Regional wood cluster handbook

STATUS OF PROPOSED ACTIVITIES FOR JICA FUNDING 1.Yokohama Seminar for promotion of women entrepreneurs  For further consultation/discussion 2. Assistance activities of NICCEP Cluster Organizations for typhoon and earthquake affected areas  JICA to approve 4 project proposals submitted by the relevant cluster organizations, and to allocate around PhP3.5 million of additional fund for the following activities :

STATUS OF PROPOSED ACTIVITIES FOR JICA FUNDING  Reconstruction of seashell gathering and processing facilities in Northern Cebu (Visayas GDH Cluster)  Research and networking activities to support reconstruction of ICT industry-basis in Region 8 (Visayas ICT Cluster)  Skill training project for the people affected by Typhoon "Y" to support creation of jobs in collaboration with GDH exporters (Visayas GDH Cluster)  Project to establish inland nursery facility of seaweeds to avoid damages to be caused periodically by typhoons, and ensure the seaweeds seedling supply (Davao Seaweeds cluster)

STATUS OF PROPOSED ACTIVITIES FOR JICA FUNDING 3.Training program in Japan for Mindanao clusters  Ongoing discussion with SPMO on possible change of the training focus from the proposed trade and investment promotion for the respective clusters, to study on SMEs and their support programs in Japan particularly focusing on food processing industries

STATUS OF PROPOSED ACTIVITIES FOR JICA FUNDING 4.Proposals of DTI for the next step technical cooperation of JICA  One proposal from DTI-R7  Industry-based expert dispatch for NICCEP pilot industry clusters in Mindanao (Regions 9, 10, 12, 13)
